The Light of Hope Foundation is committed to enhancing digital literacy among people particularly women and underserved communities. In today’s digital age, the ability to effectively use digital tools and resources is critical for personal and professional development. This program aims to empower participants with the skills needed to confidently navigate the digital world.

Position Overview

The Digital Literacy Facilitator will play a vital role in empowering individuals to develop essential digital skills, enabling them to confidently engage with technology in their daily lives. This role involves designing and delivering interactive training sessions, providing hands-on support, and fostering a positive learning environment to bridge the digital divide.

Responsibilities:

  1. Training Design and Preparation
  • Develop digital literacy training materials, including lesson plans, presentations, and handouts.
  • Plan training sessions tailored to participants’ skill levels and specific needs.
  • Prepare and set up necessary equipment, software, and tools for training sessions.
  • Manage and organize the enrollment process for students, ensuring accurate data entry and record-keeping.
  • Monitor and record students’ attendance, maintain up-to-date attendance logs.
  • Assist in the planning, administration, and oversight of examinations.
  • Design and produce certificates for students upon course completion.
  1. Training Delivery
  • Conduct interactive and engaging training sessions online.
  • Teach essential digital skills, such as:
    • Basic computer operations (using a mouse, keyboard, etc.).
    • Internet navigation and online research.
    • Email setup and usage.
    • Digital safety and privacy practices.
    • Accessing and navigating e-learning platforms or job search portals.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • OR relevant professional certifications (e.g., in digital literacy, IT support, or teaching).

Experience

  • Proven experience in teaching, training, or facilitating workshops, particularly in digital literacy or technology-related fields.
  • Experience working with diverse groups of learners, including individuals with varying levels of digital proficiency.
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and digital tools for virtual training (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience in troubleshooting basic computer or software issues and providing technical support to learners.
